For the followers of techno-shamanism, the dualistic distinction between Nature and the Digital does not exist. By creating a bridge between modern technologies and ancestral practices, it is possible to access a new spiritual world and achieve altered states of consciousness. #ALPHALOOP is freely inspired by the theories developed by Timothy Leary, the great theorist of cyberculture.
For 45 minutes, a small group of spectators equipped with augmented reality headsets are invited to a psychedelic exploration where the boundaries of the virtual and real worlds merge. In line with his previous work, the artist questions our deep connection with our environment and the omnipresence of immersive technologies (XR). In this way, #ALPHALOOP draws a parallel with the accepted belief that technology can cure all our social ills.
